The 131 Ranch is located just SW of Medicine Mound, Texas in southern Hardeman County. This is an excellent cattle and hunting ranch that is truly one of a kind and hard to find with frontage on the Pease River. It is a very historic part of northwest Texas. It was an area full of history with the recapture of Cynthia Ann Parker in the battle of the Pease River and other Indian history.

The 131 Ranch is a working cattle ranch that is well watered and cross fenced to maximize grazing potential. There is approximately 1000 acres of improved grasses (blue stem, side oats, etc.) that provide great early spring grazing which allows you to rest your native pastures. There is also some cultivation that is currently planted in winter wheat for grazing during the winter months. There are two spring fed creeks, Cottonwood and Hackberry, that run throughout the ranch from north to south to the Pease River. The creeks have excellent grazing in the creek bottoms and are lined with hardwoods, mesquite and cedar. There are 3 sets of corrals located on the ranch in strategic areas to aid the rancher.

Last but not least the 131 Ranch offers great hunting with trophy whitetail and mule deer. It also has excellent bird hunting with turkey, quail, dove, duck and geese. This ranch is a sportsman’s paradise with great elevation change, good cover, 2 creeks, numerous ponds, and also approximately 2 miles of Pease River frontage. The 131 Ranch has large neighbors which provide minimal hunting pressure to maximize the maturity of trophy deer. In 2008 a trophy whitetail was taken on the ranch which scored 183 B&C. This ranch has had a wildlife management plan in place for several years and it is truly paying off.

The headquarters of the ranch has a hunter’s cabin that will sleep 10 very easy that is 3 BR, 2 BTH and CH&A. Also there is a large hay barn with a shed extension to park 4wheelers or ATVs. There is a horse barn and stalls for the horseman or rancher. The headquarters is accessed off of FM 3295 and has rural water and electricity. This is a working cattle ranch that is also a great hunting ranch that is priced to sell at $975/acre.
